how do I wash my webkinz
67Are Webkinz Washable?
Are Webkinz washable? You bet! How do I wash my webkinz? According to the Webkinz.com FAQ's site "your Webkinz Plush pet should not be washed in a washing machine. If they are looking a little scruffy, and a bit of a wash seems like a good idea, please wipe it with a damp cloth with a little, teensy-tiny bit of baby shampoo. Next, wipe it again with a damp cloth, this time with no soap."
This is very true if a little dirty. Unfortunately our lion (who my daughter named Charmin) got very dirty. Sparing you the nitty gritty details, she was sick with the flu and Charmin got caught in the middle. No 'wipe' was going to clean him.
I put him in the washing machine with a couple of towels so the machine wouldn't get off balance, and a small amount of soap, set the temperature for a warm wash and put it on the gentle cycle. After the wash was done, Charmin looked great. I put him and the towels in the dryer with regular heat for about 20 minutes. He came out perfectly and smelling great! My daughter though he looked even shinier.
Now if you have to wash your webkinz, remember to use caution. The Webkinz site doesn't recommend it, but they are after all made of fabric and plastic pellets and their eyes and noses are embroidered on. There is nothing that will fall off or melt. Though I probably wouldn't wash them in a hot water wash, or keep them in the dryer too long - just in case they shrank or something!
But sometimes you do what you gotta do, it's better then running out in the middle of the night and buying a new one because your dog ate it, which happened to our poor lil'kinz pig named 'Pearl'!

Just in case you need to buy a new Webkinz, or add to your collection....
You can find all the Webkinz and Lil'kinz at Amazon and they can ship them pretty quick. On eBay you can get some Webkinz for a few cents, add on shipping, and they cost a fraction of the store price! Believe it or not, but I just got a black cat on eBay for 6 cents! after shipping it cost me $3.58. A lot of the bids start at one cents, the more popular Webkinz go up pretty fast, but sometimes you are lucky and catch the bidding just in time and get them for under a dollar.
If you don't have an eBay account click here register with eBay (eBay is free to join) to go to the registration page,

I have kids and they get their Webkinz dirty all the time! I washed their Webkinz and they turned out perfectly! Thanks for the help!
most plush toys can be washed in the washing machine
I washed big batches of stuffed animals and 90% came out nice, but some types of fur come out kind of nappy. I'm glad to hear that webkinz come out nice because...ewwww...my son's pig, Mud, is really living up to her name.
Cool !!! I need to go there so bad!!! Thanks for letting me know!

thanks for the info. I really need to wash my sons alley cat Sparky. He wet his bed last night and unfortunatly he always sleeps very close to Sparky.
Thank you so much for sharing this info! My daughter's little cat was completely soaked(after she tried giving him a bath, of course) and I was hesitant to dry it.
After reading this, however, I tossed the cat and a few towels in the dryer on a delicates setting and he came out looking better than ever.

if anyone has a solution to my messy little hippo please post ideas. Thanks. Sorry for typing sluchie instead of slushie. he is blue and looks like a blue rasberry slushy, thats how i got his name. Please post soon!!! Slushie thanks you a lot!!!
My girlfriend and I adapted a personality for the lion webkinz. He is bratty, young and refuses cleaning. I wanted to do online research first without destroying the poor guy.
Hey that story really helped thx alot - Alyssa -
Hey guys this is Selena Gomez this story was hope charmin is nice and clean
Thanks for the info.I have a question though.I have seen webkinz videos where people have washed their webkinz in the sink, like a bath, and then they put them in the dryer. Is that okay? Thanks again. -Webkinz Buyer :)
You seriously saved my butt. I was babysitting my baby cousin, and accidentally spilled milk all over her red panda webkinz. Luckily I was able to wash it while she was napping (after stealing it from her crib), and it looks good as new. Actually a little too good according to her parents.
